The Seeds for the Future programme seeks to develop skilled, tech-savvy, and socially responsible digital talents prepared to lead future technological innovations.​

The program targets university students worldwide, particularly those studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Participants are selected to undergo short-term intensive training, engage in global competitions, and participate in ongoing alum activities focused on digital technology​​.

Educational and Cultural Exchange

Seeds for the Future provides a platform for young talents to gain firsthand experience with cutting-edge ICT technologies and engage in cultural exchange. This includes trips to China's top technology hubs, such as Huawei's headquarters, where they can observe and learn about innovations directly from one of the leading tech companies globally​​​​.

Tech4Good Competition

 A programme highlight is the Tech4Good competition, where students work in teams to develop technological solutions for global social issues. The competition culminates in an international event where teams present their projects, compete for funding, and have the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.

Since its inception, the programme has expanded significantly.

As of 2024, the program has expanded to over 150 countries, benefiting 2.8 million digital professionals cumulatively. Huawei has established over 2,600 ICT Academies. The program aims to expand the digital talent pool by 500,000 people by 2026 in the Asia-Pacific region.

After a period of online training, the program returned to in-person training in 2024, providing invaluable experiences that bridge the gap between academic learning and practical ICT skills. Huawei collaborates with leading universities and TVET institutions to cultivate talent and foster innovation in ICT.

 The initiative emphasises diversity and inclusivity, committing to substantial participation from female students.
