The inception of BackAlley Barbers traces back to a simple act of kindness when Yinzhou learned to cut hair to help a friend whose financial burdens made personal grooming unaffordable. Today, Yinzhou and a team of volunteers provide free haircuts not only in the back alleys of Geylang but also in migrant shelters, nursing homes, and other community centres​​.
